Rural Development Officer

We are seeking an experienced Rural Development Officer to join our passionate team at Sported. This challenging yet rewarding role involves supporting community sports groups in rural areas of the Abbeystead Estate in Lancaster, focusing on building relationships and facilitating collaborative networks.
The successful candidate will have experience executing clear strategies for engagement, recruitment, and support, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of capacity building practices, such as fundraising and organisational development, is also essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required to maintain accurate project administration and evaluations.
This part-time role (22.5 hours per week) offers a competitive salary of £26,500 - £28,000 (pro rata), 25 days holiday in addition to statutory Bank Holidays (pro rata), and two additional days of personal leave per year for religious holidays and/or wellbeing days. You will also have access to a confidential counselling service, a pension scheme, and virtual Diversity & Inclusion Open Space every month.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of data-based insight, collaborate with the Delivery Team to share best practices, and help establish sustainable solutions that benefit the area and its people beyond the five years of the project.
