Job Title: Finance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our team at the University of Oxford. As a key member of the Department of Politics and International Relations, you will be responsible for the financial operations of the department.

About the Role:

  • Manage the financial operations of the department, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial plans and strategies to support the department's goals and objectives.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to departmental staff, including budget holders and project managers.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies, including those related to accounting, taxation, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure effective financial management and planning.

About You:

  • You will have a strong accounting background, with a full or partial professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ACA).
  • You will have significant experience working in finance roles, preferably in a large, complex accounting environment.
  • You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • You will have proven leadership and management skills, with experience of managing staff and teams.
