About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Team Leader to join our dynamic team at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality specialist nursing care to our patients, coordinating the overall management of the unit, and facilitating the education and support of qualified and unqualified staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-standard specialist nursing care to patients
  • Coordinate unit management and ensure smooth operation
  • Facilitate education and support for staff
  • Work independently and autonomously, accountable for professional actions
  • Deputise and support the ward Sister as needed

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • RN1 qualification
  • Oncology or Haematology Care modules
  • SACT accredited course or competencies
  • Proven experience at Band 5 in Oncology/Haematology
  • Working with learners, handling distressed patients and carers, and other staff members

Skills and Qualities

We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills, proven leadership skills, and the ability to work independently and autonomously. You should also have a strong understanding of oncology and haematology care, as well as experience working with electronic prescribing systems and CVADS.
