About the Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team in Harrogate.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people with SEMH needs.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • You will provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs.
  • You will work collaboratively with teachers to plan and deliver educational activities.
  • You will implement behaviour management strategies to create a safe and positive learning environment.
  • You will assist in monitoring and evaluating student progress, both academically and socially.
  • You will facilitate small group sessions and one-to-one support to address individual needs.
  • You will contribute to the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • You will support the school's SEN policies and contribute to the development of students Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).

What We Are Looking For

  • You must have proven experience as an HLTA in SEMH or SEN settings.
  • You must have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH needs.
  • You must have excellent behaviour management skills and strategies.
  • You must be able to build rapport with secondary age students and adapt to their individual learning requirements.
  • You must be a collaborative team player who can also work independently.
  • You must have relevant HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • You must commit to ongoing professional development in the field of SEN education.
  • You must have your own personal transport.

Estimated Salary: £25-£28 per hour
