Café and Reception Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Café and Reception Supervisor to join our team at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our patient access team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our reception and scheduling services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors, responding to queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of reception staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Plan and manage staff rotas, utilizing Healthroster to ensure adequate staffing levels and minimize downtime.
- Authorise annual leave and ensure that the service is maintained during periods of absence.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including waiting times and patient satisfaction.
- Collaborate with patient pathway coordinators and operational teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficiency and robust governance.
- Work within a delegated budget to manage office equipment and services.
- Provide training and development opportunities to staff, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Good general education, including English at GCSE (Grade C or above) or equivalent.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft packages and NHS administration systems.
- Experience of working in a busy environment, dealing with peaks of high workload and sensitive information.
- Ability to work under pressure, using initiative and judgment to resolve patient and staff queries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and external partners.
