We are seeking a talented Formulation Scientist to join our global FMCG team at Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple. As a key member of our fast-paced FMCG environment, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative hair products that delight our consumers.

The position is based at our client's scientific Research & Development facility in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral, easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

As a Formulation Scientist, you will work across various brands such as Sunsilk, Tresemme, Dove, Nexxus, Andrelon, and many more, developing a diverse range of hair care products, including shampoos, conditioners, leave-on creams, and aerosol formulations. Your key responsibilities will include:

Formulation Development:

  • Developing new hair formulations, including shampoos, rinse-off conditioners, and leave-on products.
  • Performing product quality check analysis and product performance measurements.
  • Preparing hair aerosol products by filling and crimping the cans.
  • Conducting product qualification and product quality studies, including product stability, product compatibility, corrosion, and blockage tests.

Product Quality Assurance:

  • Collating, analysing, and communicating data and insights.
  • Supporting the delivery of hair innovation projects by testing products, generating, and analysing data, and reporting back to the team.

We are looking for a skilled professional with a BSc/MSc in a scientific discipline and lab experience in quality control or formulation. You will be working in state-of-the-art laboratory and pilot plant facilities, with free onsite parking and a range of site clubs and catering outlets available. The site is easily accessible by train and car, and there are opportunities for professional development and growth within the company.
