Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Specialist to join our inclusive primary school team in Chelmsford. As an SEN Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing essential support to young students with additional learning needs, helping them overcome learning barriers and gain confidence both academically and socially.

About the Role
  • This is a permanent full-time position in a nurturing primary school dedicated to inclusion and student-centered learning.
  • You will collaborate closely with experienced SEN staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans for each student, providing one-on-one and small group support as needed.
  • Your role will involve creating a positive learning atmosphere that fosters engagement, growth, and confidence-building for students with a range of learning needs.
  • You will work with teachers to adapt lessons and classroom materials, ensuring accessibility and meaningful participation for every student.
  • You will provide consistent encouragement and assistance to help students reach developmental and academic milestones while promoting a safe supportive environment where they can thrive.
Requirements
  • Experience working with primary-aged children in an educational or SEN setting is essential, with a preference for candidates who have supported children with additional needs.
  • You should have a patient and empathetic approach to working with young learners, with the ability to build trusting supportive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • You should possess strong communication and teamwork skills and a willingness to collaborate closely with the SEN team to adapt approaches for each child's unique needs.
  • An Enhanced DBS check is required to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.
