Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role as a Peripatetic Deputy General Manager (Clinical) at Barchester Healthcare. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing and developing teams across multiple care homes in the East Sussex region.

As a Peripatetic Deputy General Manager (Clinical), you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality care and service delivery, leading a multidisciplinary team, and monitoring standards through audits, supervised clinical practice, and regulatory compliance.

You will work closely with the General Manager or hiring manager to implement action plans that meet the needs of our residents. In the absence of the General Manager, you will take on leadership duties and help with everything from care standards to motivating your team.

You will inspire a multidisciplinary team to ensure they provide the best possible quality of life for our residents. This means leading by example and monitoring standards through regular audits, supervised clinical practice, and checking our regulatory compliance.

You will set the highest standards and draw on your skills to develop and deliver strategies that will help you achieve your goals.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with current NMC registration and a teaching, mentoring or supervision qualification. Previous experience of working within a nursing home setting is essential, as is evidence of continual professional development.

You will need to have experience in helping residents with different health needs, a successful track record of managing safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments, and some HR experience.

You will also need a strong knowledge of sales and marketing, an understanding of budget management, and a track record of supporting newly qualified nurses through preceptorship.

Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with current NMC registration and a teaching, mentoring or supervision qualification
