The Governors of Swanwick School and Sports College are seeking a dedicated and skilled Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting pupils with special educational needs, working collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate pupils, improve the quality of their learning, and inspire trust and confidence in colleagues.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing additional support with physical activities at break and lunch times
  • Assisting pupils in managing personal care
  • Supporting pupils to develop effective communication skills, including Makaton
  • Working across Key Stages 1, 2, 3 or 4 as required
  • Demonstrating strong literacy and numeracy skills

The successful candidate will be committed to making a real difference to the lives of young people with special educational needs and their families/carers.
