The Derbyshire County Council is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our team. As a Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs and working collaboratively with colleagues to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Engage and motivate pupils to achieve their full potential
  • Improve the quality of pupils' learning by providing targeted support and interventions
  • Inspire trust and confidence in pupils and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues to promote a collaborative and supportive learning environment
  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding of the needs of pupils with special educational needs
  • Provide additional support with physical activities and personal care
  • Assist pupils in developing effective communication skills, including Makaton
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum and support the delivery of lessons
  • Work across Key Stages 1, 2, 3, or 4 as required
  • Demonstrate strong literacy and numeracy skills to support pupils' learning
