Teaching and Learning Assistant Opportunity

The Headteacher and Governors at Swanwick Primary School are seeking a highly effective Teaching and Learning Assistant to join their team from September 2024.

This is a hybrid general TA role with some 1:1 work across KS1 and KS2. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside wonderful, hard-working and well-behaved children, as part of a highly skilled staff team, with supportive senior leaders who value their wellbeing.

The school offers continuous professional learning (CPL) opportunities through training and INSET, allowing the successful candidate to develop their skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and promoting pupil progress.
  • Work with small groups and individuals to provide targeted support and interventions.
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of lessons, including the preparation of resources and materials.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and improve teaching and learning.
Requirements
  • Love working with young people and in schools.
  • Good behaviour management strategies.
  • Highly effective practitioner who can move children on with their learning during lessons.
  • Able to lead on interventions for all children, including those with additional needs.
  • Organised, self-motivated and able to manage their own workload/timetable effectively.
  • Team player who can work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Excellent working knowledge of safeguarding young people.
