Postdoctoral Research Associate in Molten Salt Processing

Bangor University is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our Nuclear Futures Institute. The successful candidate will contribute to a research project focused on molten salt processing, working closely with our team of experts in nuclear engineering and materials science.
Key Responsibilities- Design and execute experimental studies in molten salts, utilizing expertise in rig building and solid state characterization techniques.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve project objectives, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
- Conduct high-temperature experiments on molten salts and support CALPHAD modeling.
- Develop and implement process controls, devise tests, and lead research to identify solutions.
- Present results and make recommendations to facilitate decision-making.
- PhD in a Science or Engineering discipline (or close to completion) or equivalent experience.
- Experience in molten salt experimental activities, rig building, and solid state characterization techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills, ability to prioritize workload, and work to deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently.
