Postdoctoral Research Associate in Molten Salt Processing

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team at Bangor University, working on a project focused on the development of molten salt reactor technology. The successful candidate will have a strong background in materials science, chemistry, or a related field, and experience in experimental research, particularly in the area of molten salts.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-temperature experiments on molten salts and support CALPHAD modeling
- Lead research to identify solutions, implement process controls, and devise tests in working with high-temperature molten salts
- Support research-based physical measurements with CALPHAD modeling
- Manage and prioritize own workload within agreed objectives to ensure all activities are completed to deadlines
- Coordinate and liaise with all members of the project partners to support the achievement of project objectives
- PhD in a Science or Engineering discipline (or close to completion) or equivalent experience
- Experience in the planning, design, and execution of experimental studies in molten salts
- Experience of rig building with respect to molten salt experimental activities
- Experience of solid-state characterization techniques such as IGA, BET, FTIR, SEM, and Pycnometry
