This job posting is for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant role available in Swindon. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SEMHCO, providing valuable support to a child with SEMH needs.
About the PositionThis is a tremendous opportunity for obtaining experience within the Special Needs and Mental Health sector. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will have the chance to observe, work alongside, and collaborate with various professionals including speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, and occupational therapists.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the class teacher and SEMHCO to develop strategies for supporting the child's SEMH needs.
- Provide one-to-one support to the child, promoting their emotional well-being and academic progress.
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, psychology) or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience working with children with Autism or other SEMH conditions is desirable.
This role offers a competitive salary of £80-95 per day, full-time contract, and permanent position. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and skills in the Special Needs and Mental Health sector.
