About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our team at Sunny Recruitment. As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of our engineering function, ensuring that our team works safely, effectively, and efficiently to provide engineering support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day engineering team, including time sheets, hours worked, holidays, training, absence, and disciplinary reporting.
  • Provide day-to-day management of staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of resources.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance routines in accordance with equipment manufacturer specifications.
  • Oversee breakdown repairs, ensuring safe and timely completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of engineering workshop and stores, ensuring regular cleaning and organization.
  • Use business excellence (BE) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to review existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Actively seek and identify constraints, creating opportunities for continuous improvement to maximize efficiency rates.
  • Ensure external contractors operate in accordance with our Health and Safety policy and in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate training records and deliver necessary training where applicable.
Requirements
  • HNC in mechanical or electrical discipline or a recognized engineering apprenticeship.
  • Experience working in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on system design.
  • Computer literacy with strong report writing skills, including experience with CMMS, SCADA, HMI's, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong knowledge of logic controllers and their applications in engineering systems.
  • Strong experience as a multiskilled engineer with previous leadership experience.
  • Process-oriented with the ability to identify, resolve, and escalate problems where necessary.
