**Job Overview**

We are seeking an exceptional Academic SEN Tutor to join our team at Polaris Community. As a SEN specialist, you will play a critical role in creating a safe and supportive learning environment for our pupils with complex needs.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our pupils. You will also support the class team in developing strategies to promote positive behaviors and improve pupil outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the national curriculum, meeting the complex ASC & SEMH needs of all pupils.
  • Support the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviors.
  • Report on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaise with other School staff to ensure pupils' needs are met.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
  • Build positive relationships with your pupils and drive interaction and positive learning outcomes.

**Requirements and Qualifications**

  • A qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • Previous successful teaching experience
  • Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEND within an Educational setting
  • Experience of behavior management and techniques
  • Committed to professional development and willing to learn
  • Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work
