Job Description

**Global Head of Legal and Compliance**

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Global Head of Legal and Compliance to join our team at Symes Collins. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice and guidance to our business, ensuring that we operate in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a global legal framework and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the global compliance team and program, ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met and that the business is aware of all upcoming regulatory changes.
  • Provide reactive and proactive legal advice to the business on all matters, including regulatory, corporate, litigation, employment, IT, IP, DPA, and general commercial issues.
  • Develop and deliver strategic legal risk management initiatives to ensure that the business activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Implement and develop legal strategy and plans to support the business.
  • Creation of an effective global organizational structure for the business, ensuring the opening of new legal entities within the group in accordance with corporate interests and local regulations.
  • Advising on offshore fund structures.
  • Development of commercial and internal documents and contracts, including review of all incoming legal documents from external partners.
  • Assisting in preparation of legal, risk, and compliance-related supporting documentation and materials for business and board meetings.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of PQE as a lawyer.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an In-House Legal role (or similar combined role) gained with a global asset management business.
  • Significant FCA Compliance experience, with a good knowledge of the relevant UK rules and regulations applicable to UK asset management business (including FSMA, AIFMD & MiFID II).
