Rail Vehicle Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Rail Vehicle Maintenance Engineer to join our team at the London and North Western Railway Company Limited in Crewe. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently carrying out maintenance and overhaul of rail vehicles to laid down standards and procedures.
About the Role- The role involves working on a variety of tasks, including fitting floors, panelling, seating, tables, windows and doors in the interior of rolling stock, as well as electrical tasks such as installation and replacement of traction and rolling stock components.
- You will work closely with the Team Leader/Heavy Maintenance Manager/Production Engineer to ensure that all work is carried out within set timescales and to recognised standards.
- A key part of this role will be ensuring the health and safety of yourself and others in the depot, adhering to VMI and local instruction.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Experience in electrical engineering, ideally with a qualification in NVQ Level 3.
- Proven experience in rail vehicle maintenance activities, preferably with a commercial or heavy engineering background.
- An understanding of Depot Operations, along with working knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering.
We offer a competitive salary of £36,684.41, along with a range of benefits, including pension, life and healthcare cover, an Arriva Travel Pass, Cycle to Work scheme and Arriva Village retailer discount scheme.
You will work an average of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7am to 3:30pm, with a mixture of permanent and fixed-term contracts available.
