About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Midwife to play a decisive role in leading the development of care and management of women who are at increased risk of preterm birth. The successful candidate will work closely with our Lead Consultant and midwife, as well as our fantastic Fetal Medicine team.

Job Description

">

The Midwife will provide pregnant women with risk factors for preterm labour and birth with high-quality, safe midwifery care in the antenatal and postnatal period. This will involve evidence-based and holistic care, meeting individual needs, and working autonomously within guidelines and professional practice.

Required Skills and Qualifications

">
  • ">
  • Maintain competence in providing midwifery care.">
  • Promote normality in childbirth, taking account of individual needs and risk factors.">
  • Ensure women and their partners receive necessary information for informed decision-making.">
  • Act as an advocate for the woman and birthing people.">
  • Practice meets requirements of a practising midwife according to the Nursing & Midwifery Council's Midwives Rules & Standards & Code of Professional Conduct.">
  • Practice and conduct guided by Trust policies and guidelines.">
  • Take responsibility for assessing care needs, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs of care in accordance with unit policies and research.">
  • Provide appropriate counselling and coping with highly distressing or emotional circumstances.">
  • Training provided in cervical length measurements by ultrasound.">
