Job Title: Senior Development Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Development Manager to join our Development Team within the Development and Alumni Relations Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major donations from alumni, philanthropists, corporations, trusts, and foundations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to secure major gifts from individual donors, trusts, and foundations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior University leaders, prominent public figures, and major benefactors to facilitate the development of principal/major donations.
  • Work closely with the Development Team to deliver Durham's bicentenary campaign, known as Durham 200, which aims to increase philanthropic income and impact.
  • Provide specialist advice on the analysis and interpretation of complex data to inform fundraising strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and organisational policy in fundraising activities.
Requirements:
  • Experience of working in a fundraising, stewardship, or business development environment.
  • Strong digital competence across a range of digital devices and apps.
  • Committed to continuing professional development.
  • Knowledge of compliance with regulatory and organisational policy.
