About Our Client

Our client, a highly successful organisation, is seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join their team in Redhill, Surrey. The role offers a hybrid working pattern, with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home after training.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, including:

  1. Calculating, recording, and processing staff payments, with adjustments made as necessary.
  2. Distributing payslips in accordance with the monthly payroll timetable.
  3. Completing and submitting PAYE, NI, pension, and other statutory returns by the due date.
  4. Managing agent payments on behalf of HM Inland Revenue, Teachers Pension Scheme, Local Government Pension Scheme, and other bodies.
  5. Ensuring contracts are in place for hourly paid staff and processing payments only on authorised contracts/pay claims.
  6. Undertaking tax and pension year-end procedures, preparing returns for HM Inland Revenue, and issuing P60s, P11Ds, and other year-end documents.
  7. Monitoring and analysing payroll data, including pay costs, staff sickness, maternity, and jury service.
  8. Reconciling transactions relating to enhanced pension arrangements for former employees.
  9. Ensuring budget holders and nominees are aware of deadlines and procedures.
  10. Maintaining documentation for payroll team procedures.
  11. Acting as a key point of contact for the Finance department.

The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of payroll and pension procedures, strong Excel skills, and a hybrid working pattern that suits their needs. The role also offers a competitive salary, 27 days holiday, and 8 days bank holiday, as well as a good pension scheme.
