Quality Assurance Specialist Construction

The Transpennine Route Upgrade Project is a multi-disciplinary project upgrading the existing railway route between Manchester and Leeds through the Pennines. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Site Quality Engineer plays a crucial role to assure construction delivery quality and ensure the consistent application of quality processes across the Project.

Your mission

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular inspections and surveillance to ensure compliance with quality requirements and produce reports of findings.
  • Provide expertise to document originators in the formation of Inspection and Test Plans and BIM 360 Field checklists.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify potential quality risks and implement preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality-related activities, including inspection reports, test results, and non-conformance instances.
  • Support the development of quality-related training materials for alliance-wide dissemination.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of site quality documentation in alignment with BAM Nuttall's standards.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to gather all necessary quality documentation throughout project lifecycles.
  • Monitor progressive assurance of ITPs by the delivery teams to ensure that checklists and quality verifying records are being created contemporaneously.
  • Provide training to project teams on quality standards, processes, and tools.
    • Degree in engineering or a related field, or a formal construction quality qualification.
    • Proven experience in quality assurance within construction or engineering projects.
    • Strong understanding of quality management principles, tools, and methodologies.
    • Proficiency in relevant quality software and tools.
    • Problem-solving mindset and a proactive approach to quality improvement.
    • Practitioner Chartered Quality Professional or in progress.
