Mental Health Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Wiltshire College & University Centre.
Salary: £25,522 per annum (pro rata)
This is a permanent, part-time position, with 15 hours of work per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting students in navigating personal, social, health, and welfare challenges.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mental health and wellbeing challenges faced by students and experience in delivering wellbeing interventions, workshops, or similar activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one guidance on mental health and wellbeing.
- Deliver engaging workshops on mindfulness, emotional resilience, and other relevant topics.
- Host events to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing issues.
Collaboration & Referral:
- Work closely with Student Support & Safeguarding teams to ensure students are connected to resources for issues like homelessness, counselling, and healthcare.
Resource Development:
- Partner with Counsellors and SS&S to maintain an up-to-date database of external support services.
- Create dynamic resources to support the college's pastoral care framework.
Crisis Management & Safeguarding:
- Be a key contributor to critical incident responses, supporting students during crises.
- Collaborate with Tutorial and Safeguarding colleagues to enhance tutorial programmes.
Service Quality & Engagement:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of student wellbeing services.
- Participate in cross-college events, providing tailored wellbeing support and training.
