Job Title: Diabetes Specialist Midwife

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diabetes Specialist Midwife to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, specialist care to women with diabetes during pregnancy.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead on the midwifery care of women with complex pregnancies and diabetes
  • Develop and implement care pathways for women with diabetes in pregnancy
  • Provide education and training to staff on diabetes care in pregnancy
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care for women with diabetes
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective care coordination
Requirements:
  • Registered Midwife with significant post-registration experience
  • UK recognised Midwifery degree or equivalent qualification
  • Evidence of further professional development in diabetes management
  • Post-registration qualification in leadership or equivalent experience
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Masters or postgraduate study in a relevant field
  • Experience in managing women with complex pregnancies and diabetes
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Ability to teach and train staff on diabetes care in pregnancy
