Account Payable Specialist Job

An international fashion retailer is hiring an experienced Account Payable Specialist to support their financial growth.

This role offers a rare opportunity to work with a reputable brand, expanding your knowledge in accountancy and financial management.

About the Role:
  • Process and manage invoices, ensuring timely resolution of related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead key ledger accounts, including invoice processing, payment setup, and statement reconciliation.
  • Develop and present the weekly payment proposal for approval.
  • Process and allocate direct debit transactions within the ledger.
  • Maintain accurate Aged Creditor balances, including payment allocation and investigation of outstanding items.
  • Support the AP Supervisor with the monthly Aged Creditor reconciliation.
  • Address supplier and internal department queries.
  • Verify new supplier forms for accuracy and obtain authorisation.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable inbox daily.
  • Reconcile Other Debtors and Other Creditors accounts.
  • Process prepayments.
  • Categorise invoices based on expenditure type and accounting treatment.
  • Process employee cash expenses and reconcile company credit card accounts.
  • Authorise ad hoc payments for non-supplier-related expenses, such as payroll and tax payments.
About You:
  • Previous experience in a finance department, preferably with AP exposure.
  • Background in retail or multi-site business advantageous.
  • Intermediate Excel skills essential.
  • Familiarity with SUN accounting system beneficial but not required.
  • A proactive individual capable of multitasking and taking ownership of responsibilities.
  • A team player who collaborates effectively with Finance Team members, including Senior Management.
  • Detailed-oriented with the ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
Salary Band:

£35,000 - £45,000 per annum.
