Accounts Payable Specialist Role at Agora Talent

A highly-regarded fashion retailer is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in finance, preferably with some experience in Accounts Payable, and excellent communication and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Processing invoices and addressing related inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Taking ownership of key ledger accounts, including invoice processing, payment setup, and statement reconciliation.
  • Preparing the weekly payment proposal for submission and approval.
  • Processing and allocating direct debit transactions within the ledger.
  • Reviewing and maintaining Aged Creditor balances, including payment allocation and investigation of outstanding items.
  • Assisting the AP Supervisor with the monthly Aged Creditor reconciliation.
  • Resolving queries from suppliers and internal departments.
  • Ensuring new supplier forms are completed accurately and authorised.
  • Managing the Accounts Payable inbox daily.
  • Reconciling Other Debtors and Other Creditors accounts.
  • Processing prepayments.
  • Coding invoices appropriately based on the type of expenditure and accounting treatment.
  • Processing employee cash expenses and reconciling company credit card accounts.
  • Raising ad hoc payments for non-supplier-related expenses, such as payroll and tax payments.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a finance department, preferably with some experience in AP.
  • Experience within a retail/multi-site business desirable.
  • Intermediate Excel Skills.
  • Familiarity with SUN accounting system an advantage.
  • Ability to multitask and independently manage responsibilities.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the capability to perform well under pressure.
Salary

This is a competitive role with an estimated salary of £25,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on experience.
