Mortgage Processor Job Description

At Together, we're seeking a skilled Mortgage Processor to join our team. As a Mortgage Processor, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our Mortgage Advisors and customers by accurately assessing new applications against underwriting criteria.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process applications from receipt of pack to submission to underwriting, ensuring accurate completion of relevant systems and fraud prevention checks.
  • Provisionally underwrite and package new applications, providing an initial case assessment and requesting additional information as needed.
  • Complete security checks with applicants, focusing on fraud avoidance and timely investigation, escalation, and reporting.
  • Manage the submission process, ensuring accurate data entry and a smooth transition to underwriting.
  • Proactively manage a pipeline of cases, requesting information from customers and third parties as required.
  • Provide customers and stakeholders with updates and ensure required information is requested within service levels.

Requirements:

  • Mortgage processing/administrative experience.
  • Customer Service experience.
  • Ability to assess and interpret information supplied, such as bank statements.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prioritize and work to deadlines.
