Mortgage Processor Job Description

As a Mortgage Processor at Together, you will play a vital role in supporting our Mortgage Advisors and customers by accurately assessing new applications against underwriting criteria, following appropriate policies and procedures, and ensuring that pipelines are appropriately managed and progressed.

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Mortgage Processor. Key responsibilities include:

  • Accurately processing applications from receipt of pack to submission to underwriting, completing information on relevant systems, and performing relevant fraud prevention checks.
  • Provisionally underwriting and packaging new applications received, providing an initial case assessment, and requesting any additional information required to progress to underwriting.
  • Completing security checks with applicants where required, with a focus on fraud avoidance, ensuring timely investigation, escalation, and reporting to minimize the risk to the business and the customer.
  • Accurately managing the submission process, ensuring all data entry is accurate and completed to ensure a smooth transition to underwriting.
  • Proactively managing a pipeline of cases, ensuring that information is proactively requested from customers and third parties.
  • Providing customers and other stakeholders with updates and ensuring required information is requested within service levels.

Requirements:

  • Mortgage processing/administrative experience.
  • Customer Service experience.
  • Ability to assess and interpret information supplied, e.g., bank statements.
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prioritize and work to deadlines.
