About the Role

The Dementia Adviser role is a critical position within our national Alzheimer's Society's telephone service, providing essential support to individuals and families affected by dementia.

This role requires a high level of empathy, motivation, and professionalism, as the successful candidate will be the first point of contact for individuals diagnosed with dementia and their loved ones.

The Adviser will assess the needs of callers, providing guidance and support to access local services and networks. This role also involves making outbound calls and responding to email inquiries, requiring excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

About You

We are seeking an empathetic and motivated individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of people affected by dementia.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of health and social care, with previous experience in a telephone-based or customer-facing role. They will be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals, adapting their language style to suit different needs.

The successful candidate will also be an active listener, able to capture and accurately record important information. Proficiency in using computers and Microsoft applications, as well as familiarity with patient/customer databases, is essential.
