The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful definition, approach, governance, and execution of a wide variety of technology and operational projects. This will involve identifying, assessing, and managing risks to the success of the project, as well as ensuring that realistic project plans are maintained and regular and accurate communication is provided to stakeholders.

The Project Manager will be expected to perform up to Level 5 of Project Management (PRMG) within the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA). This will involve adopting appropriate project management methods and tools, whether predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years' experience of successful project delivery and a Practitioner level or equivalent project management qualification from a recognised body. Experience of delivering projects involving cloud technology and agile delivery methods would be beneficial.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the successful definition, approach, governance, and execution of projects
  • Identifying, assessing, and managing risks to the success of the project
  • Ensuring that realistic project plans are maintained and regular and accurate communication is provided to stakeholders
  • Auditing and implementing project management methods and tools
  • Providing effective leadership to the project team
  • Working closely with the Projects & Change team to ensure projects are appropriately resourced and that the relevant stakeholders are engaged

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, a good understanding of business analysis techniques, and experience of using Microsoft Project or an equivalent tool to plan, manage, and track projects. A Change Management qualification from a recognised body would be beneficial.
