Hours: 3.5 days on, 3.5 days off per week

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Junior Sous Chef to join our team at a well-established 2 AA Rosette Japanese restaurant in Central London. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will work closely with our Head Chef, who has a fine dining background, to deliver exceptional culinary experiences to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
  • Supervise and train junior chefs to ensure high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Source high-quality ingredients from reputable suppliers, including Cornish dayboats and ethical producers across Europe and Japan
  • Contribute to the development of new dishes and menus, with opportunities for personal creativity and growth
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Junior Sous Chef or equivalent in a high-end restaurant
  • Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine and cooking techniques
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
