About the Role
Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People is seeking a qualified and experienced Band 6 Deputy Lead Nurse to join our dedicated care team. As a Deputy Lead Nurse, you will be responsible for line managing a small team of staff and identifying training and development needs through the appraisal process.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide shift by shift clinical leadership and act as Shift Co-ordinator as necessary, taking responsibility for decisions made and for the management of staff on shift.
- Ensure team working principles are in place throughout the shift.
- Support the Lead Nurse and Head of Hospice and Community Services in their roles and promote the vision, mission and values of the Hospice.
- Plan and implement care for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, within the hospice.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care of children and young people in partnership with them and their parents/guardians.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a qualified RSCN/RN (Child Branch)/RNLD/RGN with at least 3 years post-registration experience. Experience with children and/or young people (0-25 years) with complex needs is also required for the role. Palliative care experience is desirable, however specialist training and development opportunities will be provided.
