About the Job

We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Residential Support Workers for children and young people in the North East region.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to positively impact young lives by creating a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver high-quality care and support to children and young people, meeting their daily needs and providing engaging activities.
  2. Offer respite services to caregivers through planned recreational and educational activities, promoting relaxation and enjoyment.
  3. Adhere to safeguarding policies, conduct regular safety checks, and ensure the well-being of all service users.
  4. Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with families and agencies.
  5. Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  6. Stay up-to-date with best childcare practices through ongoing training and education.
Essential Requirements
  • A current DBS on the update service for children and adults is mandatory.
  • Previous experience working with children and young people in a residential or respite care setting is highly desirable.
  • A solid understanding of child development and the needs of children with diverse backgrounds and abilities is necessary.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent qualification is preferred.
