Role Overview


Pinsent Masons is a market-leading alternative legal services provider within the law firm. The Vario team, a practice group within Pinsent Masons, incorporates flexible services, consulting and technology, legal project management, and managed legal services (MLS). This role sits within our MLS team.


As the Vario team grows, we are recruiting a Specialist to support our MLS Delivery teams in ensuring that we are delivering a world-class legal service to our practice groups and external clients. Reporting to our Delivery Manager, the successful candidate will:



  • Work as a subject matter expert, supporting our lawyers with a variety of more complex technical work in their area of expertise as well as client relationship activity.
  • Lead delivery of small-medium scale projects and lower complexity matters in collaboration with LPMs and/or practice group fee earners.
  • Supervise and quality check the work of more junior colleagues.
  • Mentor junior members of the team and support their upskilling.
  • Support the Senior Specialist and the Delivery Manager to develop and implement new Intellectual Property work services and solutions.

Our standard working hours are 9:30am-5:30pm, however, we are happy to consider flexible working requests.


Please note, the internal job title for this role is MLS Specialist.


Candidate Requirements


We are looking for candidates who hold the following skills and experience:



  • Demonstrable experience of working on Intellectual Property work types.
  • Broad experience of working in a large, commercial law firm.
  • Understanding of levels of service and capabilities required in alternative delivery models.
