Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Community Engagement Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for representing Save the Children and engaging with target groups in mobile PSS locations, working closely with CFS facilitators to implement activities in static locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead community engagement activities in mobile locations, providing Psychosocial Support (PSS) sessions, Safe Identification and Referral (SIR), and awareness raising on CP/MHPSS.
  • Assist in CP/MHPSS trainings and workshops on a weekly basis and support implementation as needed.
  • Inform about child protection activities and support in other sector activities when required.
  • Identify beneficiary needs and communicate with SC and relevant stakeholders.
  • Direct audiences to appropriate staff or entities for assistance and inform the CP/MHPSS supervisor about other relevant services.
  • Support SCI team in data collection.
  • Meet regularly with the CP/MHPSS Supervisor to discuss workshop planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Assist with data collection, observation, and accountability as set out by the CP/MHPSS Supervisor in close coordination with MEAL teams.
  • Arrange appointments for Save the Children staff as needed.
Requirements
  • College-level education.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Social Work, pedagogy, psychology, education, or non-formal education background.
Essential Skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and handle a complex and varied workload.
  • Ability to contribute to a small team, motivate staff, work collaboratively with colleagues, and provide support and advice as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to adjust working hours and collaborate with emergency teams.
  • Ability to read and understand simple guidelines, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Commitment to Save the Children's values.
  • Ability to communicate in Arabic.
  • Ability to use minimum level of English.
Desirable Skills
  • Previous experience in working within MHPSS programs.
