Job Summary

Save the Children is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Engagement and Awareness Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with target groups in mobile PSS locations, leading community engagement activities, and providing Psychosocial Support (PSS) sessions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent Save the Children and engage with target groups in mobile PSS locations in close collaboration with CFS facilitators.
  • Lead community engagement activities in mobile locations, including PSS sessions, Safe Identification and Referral (SIR), and awareness raising on CP/MHPSS.
  • Assist in CP/MHPSS trainings and workshops on a weekly basis and support implementation when needed.
  • Inform about child protection activities and support in other sector activities when needed.
  • Identify further needs of beneficiaries and communicate with SC and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Direct the audience to the appropriate staff or entities for assistance in line with SIR procedures.
  • Support SCI team in data collection.
  • Meet regularly for supervision with the CP/MHPSS Supervisor to discuss workshop planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Assist the CP/MHPSS Supervisor in making the procurement list and maintaining an adequate stock of the location.
  • Assist with data collection, observation, and accountability as set out by the CP/MHPSS Supervisor in close coordination with MEAL teams.
  • Arrange appointments for Save the Children staff as needed.
Requirements
  • College level education.
  • Experience in working with children.
  • Social Work, pedagogy, psychology, education, and non-formal education background will be appreciated.
Essential Skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and handle a complex and varied workload.
  • Ability to contribute to a small team, motivate staff, work collaboratively with colleagues, and provide support and advice as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to significantly adjust working hours and collaborate with emergency teams coming from outside the sector.
  • Cooperate as needed with organization staff, both internationally and within the team environment.
  • Understand and commit to Save the Children's vision and mission.
  • Ability to read and understand simple guidelines, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Commitment to Save the Children's values.
  • Ability to communicate in Arabic.
  • Ability to use minimum level of English.
Desirable Skills
  • Any previous experience in working within the MHPSS programs.
  • Ability to use minimum level of English.
