Conservation Education Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Conservation Education Assistant to join our award-winning Conservation Education and Engagement team at Chester Zoo.
As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering our on-site, outreach, and virtual programs of workshops for schools, colleges, and universities. You will assist in the development of engaging activities, workshops, and high-quality learning resources to support our conservation efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with our Conservation Education Officers to deliver Chester Zoo's program of activities for schools, colleges, and universities.
- Deliver workshops in-zoo, virtually, and as outreach, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for our audiences.
- Contribute to research to maximize conservation impact, achieve learning goals, and improve visitor/audience experience.
- Manage resources effectively to support the delivery of our programs.
- Support and work with volunteers to enhance our conservation efforts.
- Assist with administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our team.
- A competitive salary of £21,752.97 per annum, pro-rata'd to term-time only hours for the period of employment.

- Outstanding communication skills, particularly verbal and written communication.
- Experience of delivering engaging workshops to a variety of audiences, including school-aged children.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management skills.
- Experience of working with volunteers.
- A full driving license valid in the UK is essential.
- Experience of delivering engaging workshops to groups with additional learning needs.
- A sound and up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum and safeguarding legislation and policies.
