Autonomous SEN Support Specialist

iPeople Solutions is seeking an experienced EHC Plan Writer to join our team. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires the ability to work autonomously and produce high-quality EHC plans following annual reviews.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will be highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the capacity to meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement the school's SEN strategy and policy, driving pupil progress and attainment.
- Conduct thorough assessments of pupils with SEN, identifying needs and monitoring progress through observations and meetings with teachers and parents.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, the school leadership team, parents, and external agencies to develop, implement, and monitor individual support/learning plans.
- Provide regular updates on pupil progress through written reports and meetings with parents, ensuring informed decision-making.
- Maintain effective relationships with professionals outside of the school, including psychologists, health and social care providers, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists.
- Offer guidance and training to classroom teachers on supporting pupils with SEN, promoting best practices and strategies.
- Support teachers in developing schemes of work and learning programmes for pupils with SEN, enhancing educational outcomes.
- Manage and advise on the school budget and resources for SEN provision, ensuring efficient use of funds.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date pupil records, analysing data to inform strategies and interventions.
- Lead and manage SEN teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff to improve pupil progress and attainment.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN), education, or a related field.
- Proven experience in EHC Plan Writing, with a strong track record of producing high-quality plans.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Up-to-date knowledge of national and local policies related to SEN.
£52,000 - £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)
