London, Greater London, United Kingdom City & Guilds Group Full time

We are seeking an experienced Governance Lead to oversee the Awarding Organisation's governance model and approach. This role is instrumental in ensuring the successful operation of the governance framework for our Awarding Organisation.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in governance matters, with the ability to provide practical support and advice to the executive team, directors, and our broader leadership team, ensuring that the model runs efficiently and that information flows through the organisation and is fully understood.

The Governance Lead will develop and maintain governance frameworks, policies, and procedures that align to our regulatory standards and approaches, while serving as the primary point of contact for the Executive and Senior Leadership team on governance matters that relate to the Awarding Organisation.

The role will also involve developing and delivering training programmes for staff, board members, and other stakeholders on governance approaches, principles, and compliance requirements, while promoting a culture of compliance, ethical behaviour, and integrity.

The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of corporate governance principles, regulations, and best practices to provide expert advice to our senior stakeholders.

They will also have an analytical mindset, with the ability to analyse complex corporate and business issues, as well as experience of delivering a high-quality customer-focused governance support to boards and committees.

We support almost five million people each year to develop skills that help them into a job, develop on that job, and to prepare for their next job.

Through our assessment and credentialing, corporate learning, and technical training offers, we partner with our customers to deliver work-based learning programmes that build competency to support better prospects for people, organisations, and wider society.

We create flexible learning pathways that support lifelong employability, because we believe that people deserve the opportunity to (re)train and (re)learn again and again, gaining new skills at every stage of life, regardless of where they start.

At the heart of our business sits the City & Guilds Foundation, which amplifies our purpose by helping to remove barriers to getting into a job, celebrating best practice on the job, and advocating for jobs of the future.

We were founded in 1878 by the City of London and the trade guilds of the time, to help people, organisations, and economies to develop their skills for growth.

You'll receive an excellent benefits package, which typically includes a great base salary, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, private healthcare, volunteering opportunities, and much more.
