We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deputy Home Manager to join our team at Cambian Wing College. As a Deputy Home Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining a stable, happy, and caring environment that prioritizes the health, safety, and welfare of our young people.
As a key member of our care team, you will provide physical and emotional support to our young people, working closely with a team of care staff to ensure their needs are met. You will also be responsible for motivating, coaching, and managing the performance of your team, ensuring that standards set by legislation are exceeded.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop and improve practice, working in a dynamic and supportive environment that values the well-being of our young people and staff.
Main Responsibilities- Provide supervision and appraisal to staff, identifying training needs and ensuring that all staff receive the support they need to deliver high-quality care.
- In the absence of the Manager, take responsibility for the effective management of the team, including rostering and deployment of staff.
- Ensure effective communication between senior management, other sources, and the team, using a range of strategies to promote collaboration and teamwork.
- Contribute to assessments and care planning, using knowledge of the young people to inform decisions and ensure that their needs are met.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection process, ensuring that the best candidates are appointed to join our team.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification in child/adult care/support.
- Knowledge of basic aspects of management practice, including principles of effective supervision and appraisal.
- Knowledge of learning disabilities and/or special needs, including recent developments.
- Ability to follow a work pattern and attend work punctually and reliably, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
