About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deputy Home Manager to join our team at Cambian Wing College. As a Deputy Home Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining a stable, happy, and caring environment that prioritizes the health, safety, and welfare of our young people.

As a member of our care team, you will provide physical and emotional support to our young people, working closely with a team of care staff to ensure their needs are met. You will also be responsible for motivating, coaching, and managing the performance of your team, ensuring that standards set by legislation are exceeded.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision and appraisal to care staff, identifying training needs and ensuring that all staff receive the necessary support to deliver high-quality care.
  • In the absence of the Manager, take charge of the care team, ensuring effective rostering and deployment of staff, and maintaining open communication with senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to assessments and care planning, using your knowledge of our young people to inform their care and support.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection process, ensuring that we attract and retain the best candidates to join our team.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification in child/adult care/support.
  • Knowledge of basic aspects of management practice, including principles of effective supervision and appraisal.
  • Knowledge of learning disabilities and/or special needs, including recent developments.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, and to attend work punctually and reliably.
