CareTech Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Home Deputy Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Manager in maintaining a stable, happy, and caring environment that prioritizes the health, safety, and welfare of our young people. This role involves providing physical and emotional support to young people in residence as part of a team of care staff within a residential environment. The emphasis is on effective management of day and night care staff, including motivating, coaching, and managing performance through supervision and appraisal. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of what constitutes good care, be an excellent role model, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Key responsibilities include:

* Providing supervision and appraisal to staff to ensure they receive the necessary support and development opportunities.
* Identifying young people or team training needs and contributing to assessments and care planning.
* Overseeing the young people, using this knowledge to contribute to assessments and care planning.
* Ensuring effective communication between senior management, other sources, and the team.
* Maintaining accurate records and providing information to other staff, young people's families, and relevant authorities.

The successful candidate will possess a NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification in child/adult care/support, and have knowledge of basic aspects of management practice, including principles of effective supervision and appraisal. They will also have knowledge of learning disabilities and/or special needs, including recent developments.
