We are seeking a skilled Facilities Assistant to join our team at Chartwells, the leading provider of catering and support services to the education sector.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will have previous experience within a similar role and be able to adapt to changing priorities. They will also possess excellent communication skills and be able to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
As a key member of our facilities team, the successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking minor repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring the exterior of the site is clean and tidy, and assisting with the control of contractors. They will also be required to open and/or close the building where necessary, represent Compass Group UK&I, and comply with Health & Safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertake minor repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
- Ensure the exterior of the site is in a clean, tidy, and reasonable state of repair, inclusive of general external maintenance tasks.
- Assist the facilities team with the control of contractors, ensuring they are signed in correctly and adhere to site policies and rules.
- Open and/or close the building as required, representing Compass Group UK&I and maintaining a positive brand image.
- Comply with Health & Safety regulations at all times.
- Previous experience within a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated commitment to Health & Safety protocols and procedures.
- Reliability and punctuality, with a strong sense of timekeeping.
