Domestic Abuse Programme Manager

We are seeking an experienced and passionate professional to lead our Domestic Abuse Programme. As a key member of the Strategic Safer Communities Team, you will be responsible for delivering the Community Safety Partnership's statutory requirement to conduct Domestic Homicide Reviews and providing strategic oversight of workforce development programmes.

This role will also play a crucial part in the development and delivery of priorities set out in the Wakefield Domestic Abuse Strategy and Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) agenda. You will need to demonstrate a solid understanding of domestic abuse, including partnership working, and have the skills to deliver domestic abuse training and provide specialist advice, guidance, and support to partners.

The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge and understanding of the DHR process and Home Office guidance, as well as current domestic abuse legislation, including the Domestic Abuse Act. You will be motivated and passionate about this area of work and have the ability to work effectively in a team.

The role is office-based, with flexibility to support effective service delivery, working 37 hours per week. We offer a competitive salary, generous annual leave entitlement, access to an occupational pension scheme, and a range of employee benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of Domestic Homicide Reviews and provide strategic oversight of workforce development programmes
  • Develop and deliver priorities set out in the Wakefield Domestic Abuse Strategy and VAWG agenda
  • Deliver domestic abuse training and provide specialist advice, guidance, and support to partners
  • Have excellent knowledge and understanding of the DHR process and Home Office guidance
  • Stay up-to-date with current domestic abuse legislation, including the Domestic Abuse Act
