We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at GASPED. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to adults and young people aged 16+ who are affected by mental health, domestic abuse, and addiction.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately record client data and maintain accurate records of all aspects of your work.
- Contribute to client case conferences as required and work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.
- Deliver one-to-one practical and emotional support, advice, information, and signposting to clients.
- Facilitate support groups and workshops to promote social connections and community engagement.
- Coach clients into education, volunteering, and paid work to promote independence and self-sufficiency.
- Mentor clients in planning, life skills, and budgeting to empower them to make informed decisions.
- Manage client appointments, log all calls and communications with external agencies, and maintain accurate records of client interactions.
- Perform general administration and office tasks as required to ensure the smooth operation of the service.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong understanding of mental health issues and the ability to provide empathetic and non-judgmental support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Basic IT skills and the ability to use a range of software applications to maintain accurate records and communicate with clients.
