Role Overview
Leader Recruitment Group is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Senior Support Worker to join our client's residential childcare team. As a Senior Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for young people, addressing their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring Safety and Well-being: Provide a safe, supportive environment, addressing the care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs of each young person.
- Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and support junior staff members to deliver consistent, high-quality care, in line with the Home's standards and Statement of Purpose.
- Operational Support: Assist the management team in adhering to policies, procedures, and record-keeping protocols, ensuring resources are used effectively.
- Shift Management: Cover various shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and sleep-ins, and participate in residential trips as required.
- Liaison and Advocacy: Work closely with senior management, local authorities, schools, healthcare professionals, and other external parties to advocate for and promote the welfare of the young people.
- Cultural Promotion: Foster an inclusive workplace culture that values every team member's contribution and actively challenges discrimination.
- Confidentiality: Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality in all aspects of your work.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience: Previous experience in children's residential care settings or similar environments.
- Leadership: Demonstrable experience in leading shifts or teams.
- Qualifications: Level 3/4 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is required for senior roles.
- Commitment: Ability to work full-time, including sleep-ins, and participate in residential trips.
- Driving: Must hold a valid manual vehicle driving license.
