Job Description

 

A senior finance expert is required to join our team based in Washington, Tyne & Wear. This role will support the two manufacturing plants on campus, reporting directly to the Site Finance Business Partner.

This position involves providing robust analyst support to the Site FBP and first-line leadership teams, challenging the business to make informed decisions and driving efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and standardization across Manufacturing Operations.

The successful candidate will be accountable for effective business and financial controls, ensuring that financial governance and compliance are maintained effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Site FBP in providing information, insight, and challenge to the teams, driving strong financial performance on P&L/Balance sheet.
  • Complete Ap'ly reporting, including SAP, journals, P&L, and balance sheet, in a timely and robust manner.
  • Support and complete financial forecasts, understanding key movements with comparators.
  • Improve financial acumen among Manufacturing and functional teams, promoting a cost-conscious culture.
  • Engage with site stakeholders to understand P&L status, identifying key levers behind actuals and forecasts, major risks, and opportunities.
  • Review actuals against forecasts, providing insightful commentary, and prioritizing corrective actions.
  • Maintain robust management information and insights, ensuring governance and stewardship.
  • Provide financial and business advice on capital schemes, ensuring sound business cases and adherence to governance.

Requirements:

  • Finance professional with part-qualified experience.
  • Knowledge of SAP and HFM advantageous.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience communicating with non-Finance personnel.
  • Accounting experience.
