Are you passionate about community sports development? As a Community Sports Coordinator with Sport Northern Ireland, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth and participation of squash in Northern Ireland. Your key responsibilities will include coordinating sports development initiatives, working with local clubs, and promoting inclusive squash programs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of sports development and participation initiatives aligned with the Sport NI 'Power of Sport' Plan. With a focus on sustainable growth and participation, this position offers a unique chance to leave a lasting legacy in the sport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support existing clubs to establish a strong foundation for future growth and success
  • Establish new clubs to increase accessibility and participation, especially in rural areas
  • Assist clubs in developing and expanding junior sections and programs to engage young people and promote squash development
  • Develop new squash programs for underrepresented groups to promote diversity and inclusivity
  • Develop structured school programs to educate and inspire young people about squash, focusing on education and recreation
  • Collaborate with local councils and university sports development teams to support local clubs and build a network of squash enthusiasts
  • Design and deliver holiday mixed racquet camps for young people to provide a fun and engaging experience
  • Embed squash coaching within local sports activities classes to promote multi-sport development and increase participation
  • Facilitate partnerships between clubs and other youth organizations to amplify their impact and promote squash growth
  • Develop and implement innovative national programs to drive growth and participation, especially in rural areas
  • Coordinate the delivery of an Intervarsity Championship at Queen's University, showcasing the best of Northern Irish squash talent
  • Promote participation in local and provincial leagues to create a thriving competitive scene

Experience & Competencies:

  • Proven ability to design and deliver sports programs, events, and initiatives
  • Squash coaching qualification or equivalent experience
  • Full driving license

This is a fixed-term contract running until 31 March 2025, with the possibility of extension subject to continued funding from Sport NI. We estimate the salary for this role to be around £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, making it a competitive offer for a skilled professional.
