About the Job

As an Educational Needs Tutor, you will work one-to-one with children and young people with Special Education Needs (SEN), Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), or other Additional Educational Needs.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide personalized learning experiences tailored to meet the individual needs of each student, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and delivering customized lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students
  • Establishing strong relationships with students, families, and support staff to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and adjusting instruction accordingly
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A valid Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a special education setting
  • Proven expertise in creating and implementing inclusive lesson plans for students with varied abilities
  • Sensitivity and understanding of the emotional and behavioral challenges faced by students with SEN and SEMH
  • An Enhanced DBS check (we can assist with obtaining this at a reasonable cost)
  • Two professional references from previous employers or educators
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and colleagues
Employment Terms

This position is paid via PAYE, and we offer a competitive salary of £30,000 - £40,000 per year (dependent on experience). In addition to your salary, you'll have access to a range of employee benefits, including flexible working arrangements and professional development opportunities.
