About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Counsellor to provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people in our partner schools. As a Counsellor on Placement, you will work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children, offering one-to-one counselling sessions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a fully qualified Counsellor, Therapist, or Clinical Psychologist, or studying towards one of these professions. You will have a strong understanding of child development and the ability to work with children and young people in a therapeutic setting.

What We Offer

As a Counsellor on Placement with Place2Be, you will receive a high level of support through regular supervision, tailored training workshops, and a well-recognised clinical placement. You will also have the opportunity to attend up to six optional workshops throughout the year, which are recognised as continuing professional development time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people in our partner schools
  • Work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children, offering one-to-one counselling sessions
  • Attend regular supervision and training workshops
  • Participate in up to six optional workshops throughout the year

Requirements

  • Qualification in Counselling, Therapy, or Clinical Psychology
  • Experience of working with children and young people in a therapeutic setting
  • Strong understanding of child development
